Montessori Philosophy
Maria Montessori advocated for children to have the freedom to engage with materials at their own pace, either individually or collaboratively. Between birth and six years old, children possess a unique ability to acquire skills effortlessly.
At ICCC, we provide an enriched environment that stimulates cognitive, social, emotional, physical, and creative development, empowering children to explore their interests and reach their full potential. In our classrooms, children are encouraged to choose from a variety of purposeful activities and take responsibility for their environment, fostering independence and respect.
Our goal is to cultivate confident, self-motivated learners who value themselves and others. Montessori teachers guide learning rather than dictate it, allowing children to progress at their own rhythm.
As Maria Montessori famously stated, "the greatest sign of success for a teacher is to be able to say, the children are now working as if I did not exist." We strive to create a nurturing atmosphere where children feel safe, secure, and challenged to excel.

Toddler Program (18 Months to 30 Months):
About the Program
Innisfil Child Care Centre offers a full day program for toddlers focusing on both physical and mental growth. The Toddler program provides a nurturing educational experience that fosters independence, language development and motor movement.
Toddlers are given the freedom to explore in a safe and stimulating learning environment. We strive to create a safe and caring haven that supports the development of the whole child. With the teacher’s guidance, basic rules, routines and social interactions are encouraged.

The Toddler Montessori program will offer your child an in depth opportunity with a well-balanced curriculum that focuses on the Montessori philosophy. The teacher will encourage social interaction with other children, support in development of language, gross motor co-ordinations, and visual discrimination through the senses and learning materials.
Each day, we guide our toddlers in:
-
Practical life such as using a spoon, a broom or buttons
-
Manipulative work to use a two- or three-finger pincer grip which is necessary for future writing
-
Language development using materials such as language cards, songs, books and poems
-
Sensory work such as bead stringing, cutting, puzzles, and sorting to build fine motor development
-
Gross motor development in our playground where toddlers play with sand, water, balls and climbing equipment
-
Independence as the children learn to dress and undress themselves, eat independently, clean up after themselves and toilet themselves
A wide variety of planned indoor and outdoor activities are included each day. A nap time will be provided for approximately two hours every day. In our Toddler program we provide toilet learning in partnership with the families.

Casa Program (2.5 Years to 6 Years):
About the Program
Innisfil Child Care Centre offers a full-time program which continues to enhance your child’s learning experiences and foundations acquired in our Toddler Program. Casa children are engaged with specifically designed Montessori material to aid their ability to absorb knowledge and continue their self-development. The children in the program are ready to learn many new concepts which includes numbers, size, position, patterning, sequencing, vocabulary, and listening skills which will build foundation for their further development in language and mathematical skills.
